I love to write especially for how-to and troubleshoot articles in the tech world and general topic on the old days diary. One is very formal and serious, and the other one is very informal and chill. Combining these two is a bit tricky, but it’s challenging that why this post is inspired.
As we found the practical solution along the way, this article will be updated regularly. So please come back again, and let’s jump in!
Application
We use the free software called WordPress. Why we choose the WordPress? WordPress is the most popular Content Management System (CMS) in the world and is used by million websites. It also powers more than 25% of the world’s websites.
I’ve been installing and setting up this application since 2007. I found this application is the easiest web app to implement and use. Also, this app has very large active community since 2003.
Theme
We purchased a commercial theme called Zivah from Themeforest as we found the theme suites with us – creative, story telling, presenting the blog the way it should be, very-easy-to-use, strong typography focus, fully responsive on iPhone/iPad/Android phones/tablets, and lastly Woocommerce ready.
Plugins
There are a lot of good plugins that we found very usefull.
Here are some cool plugins:
- Post View Counter. We wish we have this at early beginning on previous blog site that we have as this plugin post view data can be imported.
- MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress. This plugin enabled us to capture the web user that would be interested on our content of website.
Writing Style
I like to write a particular topic on how-to or list things, and share the solution. The article should not be treated as a final piece like you write in printed book or magazine. As you might have different experience, the article should evolve based on that too.
Images
Thanks for free of use image and now we can spice up our blog by inserting nice looking image on the heading.
Here are some source for free images:

Capture the Audience
We didn’t capture the audience at the early stage of the blog. Now, we know that in order to build a community around your website, you need to have a user list so you can interact. You can capture this via join newsletter form. We use MailChimp as well as MC4WP: Mailchimp for WordPress plugin above.
Inspiration Bloggers
Here are some blogger that we found very interesting:
- Create and Go: How to make money blogging
- AspiringBloggers: The free ultimate blogging course
- SmartBlogger: How to write a blog post
